Survivor of Brazil’s Eldorado do Carajás massacre has lived with a bullet lodged behind his eye for 30 years

Shot in the eye during the Eldorado do Carajás massacre on April 17, 1996, José Carlos Agarito Moreira was later granted land and farmed it for 20 years, until his worsening injuries forced him off it. Now living in town and on dialysis, he is pressing the state of Pará to comply with court rulings.
